"අද අපේ පන්තියේ මිනිස්සුන්ගේ හැටි බලන්න. හැම මනුස්සයෙක්ම වයසට වඩා වයසට ගිහින්, ඇස් යට ගිහින්, හකු බැහැලා. ඒ තමයි අපේ පන්තියේ හැටි. හැබැයි මේ පන්තිය හැමදාම මෙහෙම ඉන්න ඕන නැහැ. අපිත් සැප විඳින්න ඕන, සතුටින් ඉන්න ඕන. අපි රදළ පන්තිවලවත්, ධනපති පන්තිවලවත් ඉපදුණු අය නෙවෙයි. අපිත් ඔබ වගේම අහිංසක අම්මා තාත්තාගේ දරුවෝ." තමන් දේශපාලනය කරන්නේ තම පන්තියේ මිනිසුන්ට යුක්තිය, සාධාරණත්වය සහ නිවහල්භාවය ලබා දීමට බව පැවසූ ඒ මහතා, බලය ලබාගෙන ජනතාවට සේවය කිරීම පිළිබඳව සතුටු වන බව ද ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. තවදුරටත් අදහස් දක්වමින් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා කියා සිටියේ ඉදිරි වසර කිහිපය තුළ රටේ සහ ජනතාවගේ ජීවිතවල කැපී පෙනෙන වෙනසක් සිදු කරන බවයි.
