හිටපු බුද්ධි ප්‍රධානී සුරේෂ් සලේ මහතා සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකළ ප්‍රකාශ සහ විරෝධතා මගින් අධිකරණයට අපහාසයක් සිදුව ඇති බව කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් පසන් අමරසේන මහතා (05) තීරණය කළේය. මෙලෙස අධිකරණයට අපහාස කළ බවට තීරණය කෙරුණේ හිටපු අමාත්‍යවරුන් වන විමල් වීරවංශ, උදය ගම්මන්පිල, හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරයෙකුගේ පෞද්ගලික ලේකම්වරයෙකු වූ සුගීෂ්වර බණ්ඩාර, ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහජන පක්ෂයේ නායක අසංක නවරත්න, ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය මහින්ද පතිරණ සහ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී දිලිත් ජයවීර යන පිරිසට එරෙහිවයි. පාස්කු ප්‍රහාර මාලාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් රඳවා තබාගෙන ප්‍රශ්න කරන සුරේෂ් සලේ ගේ රෝගී තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව නියෝගයක් ලබාදීමට 2026 ජූනි මස 10 වනදා නියම කර තිබුණි. එහෙත් ඊට පෙර, එනම් ජූනි මස 07 වනදා කොටුව දුම්රිය පොළ ඉදිරිපිට සත්‍යග්‍රහයක නිරත වෙමින් සහ විවිධ ප්‍රකාශ නිකුත් කරමින් මොවුන් අධිකරණයට අපහාස කර ඇති බවට අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව දීර්ඝ වාර්තාවක් මගින් අධිකරණයට කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කර තිබුණි. එම කරුණු සලකා බැලූ මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා තීරණය කළේ, අදාළ පිරිස 2024 අංක 8 දරන අධිකරණයට අපහාස කිරීමේ පනත උල්ලංඝනය කර ඇති බවයි. මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඉදිරි නීතිමය පියවර ගැනීම සඳහා මෙම තීරණය අභියාචනාධිකරණය වෙත දැනුම් දීමට ද කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා වැඩිදුරටත් නියෝග කළේය. This ruling addresses actions taken against former ministers Vimukthi Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila, as well as Sugishwara Bandara, a former personal secretary to a past president, opposition leader Asanka Navarathna, senior lecturer Mahinda Pathirana, and parliamentarian Dilith Jayawira. Regarding Sale’s health issues related to the Easter attacks, a directive was issued for clarification by June 10, 2026. However, prior to this date, on June 7, they reportedly engaged in a protest outside the Colombo railway station, issuing various statements that were seen as affronts to the court. The Criminal Investigation Department had thoroughly presented these findings in a detailed report, implicating the group in contempt of court. After reviewing the evidence, the magistrate concluded that the accused had violated the Contempt of Court Act, numbered 8 of 2024.
