වත්තේගම, යටිරාවණ මාර්‍ගයේ පාළු ස්ථානයක අතහැර දමා ගොස් සිටි අවුරුදු හතරක් පමණ වයසැති දැරියක් අද (13) පෙරවරුවේ වත්තේගම පොලීසිය විසින් සොයාගනු ලැබුවාය. සොයා ගන්නා අවස්ථාව වන විට මෙම දැරියට අමානුෂික ලෙස පහර දී තිබූ බව පොලීසිය පවසයි. පොලිස් හදිසි ඇමතුම් අංකයට (119) ලැබුණු තොරතුරක් මත වත්තේගම පොලීසියේ නිලධාරීන් කණ්ඩායමක් වහා ක්‍රියාත්මක වී අදාළ ස්ථානයට ගොස් දැරිය සිය භාරයට ගෙන ඇත. අද පෙරවරු 7.00ට පමණ ත්‍රීරෝද රථයකින් පැමිණි පිරිසක් මෙම දැරිය අදාළ ස්ථානයේ දමා යන්නට ඇති බවට පොලීසිය සැක පළ කරයි. සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් විමර්‍ශන ආරම්භ කර ඇති පොලීසිය, දැරිය රැගෙන ආ බවට සැක කෙරෙන ත්‍රීරෝද රථය හඳුනා ගැනීම සඳහා ප්‍රදේශයේ සී.සී.ටී.වී. (CCTV) දර්‍ශන පරීක්ෂා කරමින් සිටියි. සිය පවුලේ සාමාජිකයන් හෝ පදිංචි ස්ථානය පිළිබඳව කිසිදු තොරතුරක් ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමට මෙම දැරිය අපොහොසත් වී ඇති බව ද වාර්‍තා වේ. දැනට මහනුවර ජාතික රෝහලේ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබන මෙම දැරිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වත්තේගම පොලීසිය වැඩිදුර විමර්‍ශන පවත්වයි. Authorities suspect that a group arrived at the site around 7:00 AM in a three-wheeler and left the girl behind, raising alarms about the circumstances surrounding her abandonment. As investigations commenced, police began reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the three-wheeler involved in bringing the child to that location. Reports indicate that the girl has been unable to provide any information about her family or residential details.
