Threatening Incident Involving Local Council Chairman Under Police Investigation The Hunugama Police have launched an extensive investigation into a disturbing incident where the Chairman of the Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha was threatened with vulgar language by an intoxicated individual during a field inspection at the Ranna playground. Francisco Baduge Sanath Sandaruwan, the Chairman, was visiting the site to assess the condition of the area when he observed a man consuming beer in a public space. Noting the inappropriateness of such behavior in a communal setting, the Chairman cautioned the individual against his actions. Rather than heed the Chairman's warning, the man reacted aggressively, dismissing the Chairman’s remarks and using offensive language before leaving the playground in a huff. Initial police investigations reveal that the individual was heavily intoxicated during the incident and is said to reside in the Netolpitiy area of Tangalle.
