දක්ෂිණ අධිවේගී මාර්‍ගයේ මගී ප්‍රවාහන බස් රථ සේවා බලපත්‍ර නිකුත් කිරීමේදී සිදුවූ බව කියන මහා පරිමාණ දූෂණ වංචාවක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ සාමාජිකයෙකු මෙන්ම ජාතික ගමනාගමන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ හිටපු සභාපතිවරයෙකු වන රේණුක පෙරේරා මහතා අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්‍ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව මගින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබේ. අල්ලස් කොමිසම සඳහන් කරන අන්දමට, 1991 අංක 37 දරන ජාතික ගමනාගමන කොමිෂන් සභා පනතේ දක්වා ඇති ව්‍යවස්ථාපිත නීතිමය පටිපාටීන් උල්ලංඝනය කරමින්, නීතිවිරෝධී අන්දමින් තෙවන පාර්‍ශ්වයන් වෙත දක්ෂිණ අධිවේගී මාර්‍ගයේ මගී සේවා බලපත්‍ර 56ක් නිකුත් කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙම විමර්‍ශනය ක්‍රියාත්මක වේ. මීට අමතරව, 2014 සැප්තැම්බර් 19 වන දින ගනු ලැබූ අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩල තීරණයක නිර්‍දේශ නොසලකා හරිමින් සහ නියමිත වාර්‍ෂික බලපත්‍ර ගාස්තු අයකර ගැනීමට අපොහොසත් වෙමින්, පෞද්ගලික බස් රථ හිමියන්ට අයුතු සහගත ලෙස වාසි සලසා දී රජයට මූල්‍ය පාඩුවක් සිදුකළ බවටද හිටපු සභාපතිවරයාට එරෙහිව බරපතළ චෝදනා එල්ල වී ඇත. අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරු ඉදිරි නීතිමය පියවර ගැනීම සඳහා කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිතය. Former Commission Chair Arrested Over Alleged Corruption in Public Transport Licensing Renuka Perera, a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party and former chairman of the National Transport Commission, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption in connection with a large-scale corruption scandal linked to the issuance of passenger transport bus service licenses on the Southern Expressway. The Commission disclosed that the investigation targets the unlawful issuance of 56 passenger service licenses to third parties, which contravenes established legal procedures outlined in the National Transport Commission Act No. 37 of 1991. Additionally, serious allegations have been leveled against the former chairman for providing undue benefits to private bus operators, neglecting a cabinet decision made on September 19, 2014, and failing to collect the prescribed annual license fees, causing a significant financial loss to the government.
