වත්මන් තත්ත්වය හමුවේ මෙරට ඉන්ධන පරිභෝජනය කිසියම් ආකාරයකින් සීමා කර ගැනීම අත්‍යවශ්‍ය කාරණයක් බව බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා පවසයි. ඩීසල් මිල සංශෝධනය සම්බන්ධයෙන් කරුණු පැහැදිලි කරමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, ඩීසල් මිල ඉහළ දමනු ලැබුවේ රුපියල් 10කින් පමණක් වුව ද, ඒ සඳහා ඉන්ධන සමාගම් වෙත රුපියල් 70ක සහනාධාරයක් රජය මඟින් ලබා දෙන බවයි. ඒ අනුව ඩීසල් ලීටරයක් වෙනුවෙන් වැයවන පිරිවැයෙන් රුපියල් 70ක මුදලක් රජය විසින් දරා ගනිමින්, පාරිභෝගිකයාට පැවරීමට කටයුතු කළේ රුපියල් 10ක් වැනි සුළු මුදලක් පමණක් බව ද හෙතෙම සඳහන් කළේය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, පවතින ආර්‍ථික හා සැපයුම් තත්ත්වයන් සැලකිල්ලට ගනිමින් රට තුළ ඉන්ධන භාවිතය පාලනය කර ගැනීම මේ මොහොතේ අතිශය වැදගත් බව අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කර සිටියි. Clarifying recent adjustments to diesel prices, the minister noted that despite the diesel price increase being marginal—only by 10 rupees—the government is providing a substantial 70-rupee subsidy to fuel companies. This means that while consumers will see a slight rise in the expense of diesel, the government will absorb a significant portion of the cost, effectively making the burden on the customer only 10 rupees more per liter.
