ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල මෑතකදී ඉහළ යෑම සැලකිල්ලට ගනිමින්, සැප්තැම්බර් මස අගභාගයේදී මෙරට ඉන්ධන මිල සංශෝධනය කිරීම පිළිබඳව සලකා බැලීමට ඉඩ ඇති බව බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා අද ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, මෙරට ඉන්ධන මිල දැනටමත් සාපේක්ෂව ඉහළ මට්ටමක පවතින බැවින්, තවදුරටත් සිදුවන මිල වැඩිවීමක් ජනතාවට දරාගත හැකිද යන්න පිළිබඳව රජයේ අවධානය යොමුව ඇති අතර ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මේ වන විටත් සාකච්ඡා පවත්වන බවයි. එමෙන්ම, මස අවසානයේදී දේශීය ඉන්ධන මිල ගණන් සමාලෝචනය කිරීමේදී ඒ වන විට පවතින ජාත්‍යන්තර ඉන්ධන මිල කෙරෙහි මූලිකවම අවධානය යොමු කරන බවද අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය. Fuel Price Adjustments Under Consideration Amidst Rising Global Costs In light of the recent surge in global fuel prices, Energy Minister Anura Yapa Karunatilaka revealed today that there is a possibility of revising fuel prices in Sri Lanka toward the end of September. The Minister emphasized that local fuel prices are already at a relatively high level, prompting the government to assess whether further price increases would be manageable for the public. Discussions on this matter are reportedly ongoing. Furthermore, he noted that when evaluating local fuel prices at the end of the month, the focus will primarily be on current international fuel pricing trends to inform any potential adjustments. *Note: In case of any discrepancy between the Sinhala and English versions, the Sinhala version shall prevail.
