රටේ සහ ජනතාවගේ සැබෑ ප්‍රශ්න අමතක කර දමා ඇති රජය, විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස ඉහළ නැංවීම හරහා මුළු රාජ්‍ය තන්ත්‍රයේම පාලනය පැලවත්ත පක්ෂ කාර්යාලය වෙත නතු කර ගැනීමට උත්සාහ කරන බව විපක්ෂ නායක සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතා චෝදනා කරයි. විපක්ෂ නායකවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේ කිරිඳ ධීවර වරාය ආශ්‍රිතව සංචාරයක නිරත වෙමින් ධීවර ජනතාව මුහුණ දෙන ගැටලු පිළිබඳව සොයා බැලූ අවස්ථාවේදිය. එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ ප්‍රේමදාස මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ රජය පවසන "පොහොසත් රටක් - ලස්සන ජීවිතයක්" යන සංකල්පය ගොවියාට, ධීවරයාට, කර්මාන්ත පද්ධතියට හෝ ව්‍යවසායකයාට ශක්තියක් ලබා දීමෙන් නිර්මාණය වන්නක් නොවන බවයි. අධ්‍යාපන හා සෞඛ්‍ය පද්ධතීන් ශක්තිමත් කරනවා වෙනුවට, අධිකරණ පද්ධතියේ විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස වැඩි කිරීමෙන් පමණක් රට පොහොසත් කළ හැකි යැයි රජය විශ්වාස කරන බව ඔහු උපහාසාත්මකව පැවසීය. නව ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයක් ගෙන ඒම හරහා රජය උත්සාහ කරන්නේ ජනතා විශ්වාසය බිඳ දමමින් සමස්ත රාජ්‍ය පාලනයම තම පක්ෂ මූලස්ථානය වෙත ගොනු කර ගැනීමට බවත්, මෙය රටේ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදයට එල්ල කරන බරපතල තර්ජනයක් බවත් විපක්ෂ නායකවරයා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය. Opposition Leader Accuses Government of Manipulating Judicial System for Political Control The government is being accused by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa of attempting to gain overarching control of the state apparatus by raising the retirement age for judges, effectively diverting attention from the genuine issues facing the country and its citizens. Premadasa made these remarks during a visit to the Kirinda fishing harbor, where he sought to understand the challenges confronting the fishing community. He emphasized that the government's vision of a "prosperous nation and beautiful life" cannot be realized by merely providing benefits to farmers, fishers, industrialists, or entrepreneurs. True progress, he argued, requires strengthening education and health systems rather than relying solely on an increase in judges' retirement age to enrich the nation. He humorously noted that the government believes merely extending the retirement age will suffice for national prosperity, rather than investing in robust public services that would truly empower the populace. Furthermore, Premadasa warned that through proposed constitutional amendments, the government seeks to undermine public trust while consolidating control of the entire state governance structure within its party base.
